What is XTB Leverage?

Leverage on XTB depends on the instrument you are trading and the nominal value of your trading portfolio. With a portfolio of between 0 – 50 million EUR, you have a leverage limit of 1:500, while if your portfolio size is between 0 – 20 million EUR, your maximum leverage on XTB will be 1:100.

Maximum leverage of 1:500 means that you can open a trade position worth up to 500 times the value of your deposit. For example, with a deposit of $1,000, you can place a trade worth $500,000. The maximum leverage here is for major forex pairs and other instruments have lower leverage limits.

This account has no negative balance protection which means you can lose more than the money you deposited to the platform, so if a trade is unsuccessful and you make a loss, you will be required to deposit additional money to clear any negative balance that accrues on your trading account.

2) Swap-free Account: The XTB Swap-free Account is designed for Muslim traders who do not want to pay interest on trades. With this account, you can trade forex pairs, indices, commodities and CFDs on stocks and ETFs.

With the Islamic Account on XTB, you do not pay any commission fees for opening or closing trade positions, spreads start from 0.7 pips, and you do not pay swap fees whenever you keep a trade position open past the closing time of the market.

There is also no mandatory minimum deposit for this account although a minimum trade lot of 0.01 is required, with a maximum leverage of 1:500.

3) Swap fees: Whenever you do not close a trade position before the market closing time of the instrument, it rolls over to the next trading day, and you will be charged swap fees or overnight funding costs. This fee is based on the instrument you are trading, its spread, the size of your trade, and whether your position is long (buy) or short (sell).

4) Currency conversion fees: Anytime you trade an instrument that is quoted in a currency different from your base account currency, XTB charges a currency conversion fee of 0.5% of the transaction value.

The market closing time varies for different instruments, while forex pairs are open 24 hours from Sunday at 11 PM to Friday at 10 PM, some instruments’ trading hours close at 5 PM and others at 10 PM CET.

1) Deposit and Withdrawal fees: XTB offers free deposits for bank transfers and cards, while e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller incur a deposit charge of 2% and 1% of the transaction value respectively.

2) Account Inactivity charges: If you do not perform any trade on your account after 1 year, and no deposit has been made for 90 days consecutively, your account is categorised as inactive and inactivity charges of €10 will be incurred every month on any balance in your account.
